So, the plan is becoming reality. From the first mention of the idea to now has been at least 5 years, but it feels like the time has gone in a blink. Lots of saving, hours of planning (mostly by Megan) and more than a few shopping trips to equip ourselves and the trip is mere months away.
This website is an experiment. Since the kids were little, they (we) have created a written (and drawn, and pasted) journal for every major trip we’ve done. These journals have been a great way to remember our journeys, the people we’ve met and the places we’ve been. Even now, it’s not uncommon to find Amelia or Hamish looking through an old journal. For this trip, there will still be hand-written journals, but also a move to the modern era. We are planning to blog about our trip (and share on Facebook) – creating a digital record that can be shared with interested family and friends.
Over the coming months we will share more about our preparations and plans.
Time will tell if we can make this site worth reading.
Anthony
