Today we were glad to be able to spend some more time with Simon, Ylva and the children before they had to jet off home. When arranging to meet in the morning it was agreed that we should meet near the Tiffanys Christmas pop-up prompting Simon to say that we would be having “Breakfast at Tiffanys”.

Breakfast was actually at a nice French Restaurant where there were plenty of laughs and great conversation. After a long breakfast we took a short walk to enjoy the beautiful London morning. Unfortunately, the time soon came for us to bid farewell. We said our goodbyes and shared hugs and then we all stood there somewhat awkwardly. It had been such a good time but being so short we were reluctant to part. Ylva and Simon, thank you so much for coming to London to catch up. You remind us how truly fortunate we are to have friends such as you.

After finally pulling ourselves away, we walked from Covent Garden through to Leicester Square, taking in all of the Christmas sights and sounds and enjoying the Christmas Spirit which London does so well.
Next stop was the London Eye. It was such a magical day weatherwise, we knew that today was the day. We caught the train to Waterloo Station and then wandered around the market while we waited for our time. Hamish found a colourful resting spot.
Our allotted time soon arrived. We battled the market crowds to arrive but then (thanks to pre-booking by Megan) we sailed straight past the long line and straight onto the ride. Taking around 30 minutes for a full rotation, we enjoyed views all over London, taking photos as we went.

While on the ride we saw a high swing ride which Amelia and Hamish wanted to try. They went on the ride excitedly while Megan and Anthony watched from the ground. Amelia came off looking a little wary, feeling a little bit of what she suffered on the ride yesterday.

The crowds in London today were massive and when combined with some sort of protest crowd it took quite an effort to get back to the Tube. We were pretty tired by this stage so we headed back to our apartment for a quiet afternoon/night in.
